So this is the very first beer I’ve had from Toppling Goliath, and if this one is any indication, I’m gonna be chasing this dragon for a while.  We opened this in a session that included Alpine Nelson (one of my very favorite beers) and Hill Farmstead’s Abner, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about this beer.  It stood head and shoulders above the others, and that’s saying something.

Holy shit, is this good.  Apparently it’s all Citra, and there’s no question when you drink it.  Huge melon and citrus notes, along with pineapple and and honey.  It’s sweet without being sweet, with a short dry-ish finish.  It’s almost thirst-quenching.  Some comparisons to Zombie Dust were mentioned when we drank it, although for my money I’ll take a case of this in a heartbeat.

Did I mention that IT’S SIX FUCKING DOLLARS?!  This might be the best deal since six packs of Lagunitas Sucks, or back when I could get pints of Pliny for $4 when I lived in Cali.  Really hoping TG bottles a boatload more of this in the future.  As it is I’m off now to post an ISO for more bottles…

Lucky enough to snag an early taste last night since I can’t make it to the restaurant today. This stuff is fantastic. Big nutty aroma and flavor, a touch of bourbon, and a short, although somewhat bitter, finish. I could drink it all day. Truly wish I was heading up there right now for the formal tapping, but sadly I’ll be out of town doing family stuff. *sniff*
